Soulmates are Friends who Make Us Fly

So who is a "friend"? What is "friendship"? We use these terms over and over again, but ask a cross-section of the population and you would discover it means so many different things to different people. For instance, Facebook, there are those who will refer to the 3000 people linked to them on Facebook as "friends", while others might reserve the term for a small handful of people they know extremely well. I would say that friendship is about having a family one chooses to carry in one's heart, everyday and for the rest of one's life. The Japanese have a term for it, kenzoku. It literally means "family." This is the deep bond between people who share a similar destiny. It implies the presence of the deepest connection of souls. As the American writer Richard Bach suggested, “A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are.” Hence, having a true soulmate friend means opening ourselves up and allowing others to do the same. Solumate friendship is when we build bridges to each other's islands and realize that we are stronger and better as two or more than we are on our own. This is also about support. We need support because we believe that support is about caring and being there for each other. Some go through life taking but not giving; they are often very dependent and needy. Others don't need or want to rely on anyone; they would rather sort out their own problems than ask for help. They pride themselves on their self-sufficiency and independence. One of my favorite quotations comes from Gandhi: "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Be the friend you want to have and you will see you will attract people into your life whose characters mirrors yours. Forever & ever my Beautiful Soul Mates ❤️
